About Premier Cooperative
Premier Cooperative is an agriculture and consumer supply business, dedicated to providing its member/owners with the products and services they desire. As a cooperative, Premier Co-op returns its profits each year to its members based on the amount of business (patronage) each member does with the company. The company is the result of a merger on March 1, 2000, between Mt. Horeb Farmers Cooperative (est. 1945) and Patrons' Mercantile Cooperative (est. 1893) of Black Earth. Each company brought with it a rich history of cooperation in their communities. In 2004, Premier acquired Quad County Cooperative (est. 1918), a farm supply cooperative with locations in Blanchardville and Darlington. With our history reaching back to 1893, we are the oldest supply cooperative of its kind in the United States.
Premier operates many different businesses within the cooperative. Our three convenience stores provide our customers with groceries, fast food, a car wash, friendly service and 24 hour access to quality CENEX gasoline and diesel fuel. The Mt. Horeb Lumber Do it Best in Mt. Horeb provides professional planning and design services as well as lumber and other home improvement materials to area contractors, handymen, and homeowners. The Livestock Production Specialists and the rest of the feed team provide nutritional services, custom blending of feeds, and many other services to help improve the profitability of our farm patrons. Our agronomy department features highly trained specialists in everything from nutrient deficiencies to custom application of plant food and crop protection products. Our bulk petroleum and propane department services farm, business, and homeowners alike with quality fuels, lubricants and service work for their equipment and home heating needs. The grain division offers our patrons drying, storage, and merchandising of their grain. Our state of the art automotive center provides light and heavy vehicle services for our customers, as well as for the cooperative's fleet of trucks and equipment. And finally, the office provides the administrative support functions of each department, from payroll to accounts payable and receivable.
