Emerging Corn

Deliver Consistent, Season-Long Benefits

To get crops off to a strong start, you need to provide adequate nutrition from day one. WinField United research demonstrates that using a starter fertilizer is the best way to do that.

Faster, more uniform emergence and better root development are common with in-furrow starter fertilizer use. Seeds have immediate access to essential macro and micronutrients, which is key to helping maximize yield potential and the benefits of bigger, more extensive root growth can carry through the season to improve stalk strength potential and reduce lodging.

2021 WinField United trials* planted with 10-34-0 + Ulta-Che® Zinc 9% had a response rate of 72.7% with an 8.3 bpa advantage and trials planted with 10-34-0 + Ultra-Che® Zinc 9% + Ascend® PRO had a response rate of 90.9% with an 8.8 bpa advantage. Ascend PRO offers a similar starter response in cool, wet confitions while also providing added consistency in warmer environments.

Maximizing yield potential requires minimizing plant stress. Adding Ultra-Che Zinc and Ascend Pro plant growth regulator can help optimize early-season plant growth and development.

Please contact your local Premier agronomist to learn more about your starter ferilizer options and what can be added to your tank to give your crops a stress free start.

October 1st marked a milestone in my life. Thirty years ago on that date, I started working for the cooperative. I was 32 years old with a work history that included working as a laborer in a cheese factory, a construction worker building Harvestore silos, an infantryman in the U.S. Army and a salesperson at a competing cooperative. I guess you could say I was well rounded.

Harvest is upon us. Premier Cooperative’s Grain Division is prepared to receive what we hope to be a bountiful crop this year. We have spent a lot of time doing preventative maintenance to ensure quick unload times at each location. This will help ensure limited breakdowns during the busy harvest season.
